Environmentally conscious product development in the area
of packaging: The Air-Pack
Belonging to an environmentally conscious product development is
the reduction of energy and raw materials consumption as well as
the use of toxic substances. The prevention of product expense
stands in the foreground of environmentally conscious product
planning (LINDER 1993).
To deal with the danger of an alibi mentality, one should
first look if the product itself makes sense. If the product as
such is seen as avoidable, the problem of product construction is
superfluous. If it is in fact considered necessary, useful or at
least justifiable, then the search for a product with maximum
longevity and a production process causing minimal environmental
burden begins.
In this chapter I introduce a patented alternative in
packaging which I invented and which meets the criteria of an
environmentally conscious product construction.
